POMERANUS SEED Seed Capital Fund operates within the structures of Polish Entrepreneurs Foundation, the latter established in 1997. Originally, until 2003 PEF operated under the name of Canada - Poland Entrepreneurs Foundation and was a continuation of a Canadian Government project implemented to support entrepreneurship in Poland.
Since the very beginning of its operation the main focus of the assistance provided by the Foundation has been to finance business operations carried out by micro-, small and medium enterprises.

The following programmes have been coordinated:
Canada Loan Programme - implemented in cooperation with local and regional Business Incubators all over Poland and addressed to smallest companies; designed to finance an initial stage of a company development as well as ongoing and investment operations. Outputs: 718 companies received financing for the initial stage of their development; the financing totalled almost PLN 22 million.

Direct Loan Programme - implemented throughout Poland.
Outputs: 13 loans totalling over PLN 3 million.

Branch Network Programme - implemented throughout Poland together with Bank Pekao S.A.
Outputs: 786 loans totalling almost PLN 90 million.

Pomeranus Regional Loan Programme and 'Wielkopolska Północ', 'Gryf', 'Kujawiak', 'Odra', 'Dolny Śląsk' Subregional Loan Programmes - implemented in six Provinces: West Pomerania, Pomerania, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Wielkopolskie, Lubuskie and Lower Silesia.
Outputs (as at the end of 2008): 1,850 loans totalling almost PLN 136 million.

Pomeranus II Innovation and Investment Fund Sp. z o.o. - a venture capital fund launched by PEF in 2007.

POLFUND Loan Guarantee Fund S.A. - established jointly by PEF and Bank Zachodni WBK is the largest loan guarantee fund in Poland, covering the entire territory of the country with its operations.

Training and Advisory Programme - implemented throughout the country.
Outputs (as at the end of 2008): almost 1,500 training events delivered for 65,000 entrepreneurs, and almost 300 advisory services provided.

AMBER Business Angel Network for north-western Poland - launched by PEF in January 2009. The objective of the AMBER Network is to increase the number of investments made by private investors in innovative projects.
